About Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
What is NLP?
NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It is the practical psychology of how to use the mind to consistently achieve our goals in all areas of life (in relationships, family, career, health and fitness, personal and spiritual development etc.). Neuro means the nervous system by which our experiences are processed via the five senses (seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting and smelling). Linguistic means language and also non-verbal communication systems through which our experiences are coded, ordered and given meaning. This includes remembered or imagined sounds, images, feelings, tastes and smells. Programming means the ability to discover, utilise and change the patterns that we run in our thinking, feeling and behaving. Your thinking and feeling shapes your experience of the world. Changing the patterns of your thinking and feeling changes your reality! NLP is about how to change it for the better.
How does NLP work?
Since its beginnings in the early 1970's, the developers of NLP have done extensive research into how people naturally overcome their problems. This research has yielded a deep understanding of how people unconsciously contribute to both the creation and the solution of their problems. In an NLP session we work purposefully with these unconscious processes through powerful techniques such as guided visualisation, anchoring new associations, Time Line Therapy™, hypnosis, metaphors, creative imagination, re-imprinting etc. to name a few. All of these techniques have already helped millions to enhance mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.
During an NLP session you will sit comfortably and after an initial interview, Michael will guide you through the appropriate processes. Michael's clients commonly report having made profoundly positive transformations while feeling comfortable and relaxed in the natural flow of every session.
What are the benefits of NLP?
Frequently clients report that they have gained a better understanding of themselves, have found new confidence, have increased their personal energy and have found their lives becoming more meaningful and vibrant. Many even find that they can help the people around them more efficiently too. Come and see Michael Kaufmann, Master Practitioner of NLP, if you would like to:
- transform unwanted feelings and behaviours and enjoy a more fulfilling relationship with yourself and others,
- uncover and change unconscious decisions which limit your wealth, your happiness and self-esteem such as “I’m not good enough” or “I don’t deserve…” and unfold your full potential,
- address the emotional side of illness,
- overcome unwanted habits such as smoking and nail biting, and establish healthy eating habits,
- overcome phobias and fear of flying.
NLP for busy people
NLP has become one of today’s most powerful psychological tool for performance enhancement. You will find that nearly all effective training providers, consultants, coaches and leaders in business are now using NLP to some extent.

How NLP helped others
Martha wanted to overcome unwanted eating habits and lose weight;
"Thank you for yesterday's NLP session, it was the most dynamic, powerful and stress-free session I have ever had. I felt as I was flying, more or less on top of the world. This morning I woke up with a big bang of happiness. Thank you so much, I know and I can feel this food issue will be gone for good out of my life."
When contacted eight weeks later to follow up on her progress, this was Martha's reply;
"I am doing very well and feeling stronger and stronger every day, I can now see the weight dropping off, I feel in control. I thank you for helping me." Martha N., London.
Rachel came to see Michael for anxiety and fear of public speaking;
"I have just come out of a team meeting – and guess what? I spoke up today for the first time in months. I did what you told me and changed my perceived fear into something which I am actually very excited about. I traced the excitement back to a past time when a similar situation would have been actually very exhilarating for me. As soon as I did that, I felt better and I actually felt that I wanted to speak up in front of these people. It was quite empowering. A breakthrough I would say. I feel like I am more myself and liking it. I felt that I knew what to say and how to say it. I felt more complete and contented." Rachel O., Canterbury.
Elizabeth saw Michael because of her bursts of anger and jealousy which kept sabotaging her relationship with the man she is deeply in love with and wants to marry;
"I just wanted to let you know, that I am doing really, really well… I have most definitely come a long way, and I have never felt so at peace with myself. J. proposed to me a few weeks back and I gladly accepted. I am so happy Michael. I also wanted to say a great big thank you for your help and your guidance." Elizabeth B., Canterbury.
Ken saw Michael because he wanted to stop smoking. His reply to a follow-up enquiry several weeks later was this;
"You'll be very pleased to know I have been a natural non-smoker since I saw you & not even tried a cigarette! So thanks very much." Ken S., Tonbridge.
